Dr. Rutzen has given hundreds of lectures in the U.S. and abroad teaching other doctors and medical students. He has conducted research on corneal surgery and external eye conditions, and has written two books, numerous journal articles, and chapters in the leading ophthalmology textbooks: The Cornea, Principles and Practice of Ophthalmology, and Clinical Guide to Comprehensive Ophthalmology.
Dr. Rutzen is an active member in seven professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Recently, he was selected as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists and is listed in the Best Doctors in America Database. He was also selected by his peers as one of Baltimore Magazine’s Top Docs.
